Oxnard School District Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
Dear OSD Parents and Staff:
After careful consideration, and after consulting with the Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE), the Oxnard School District is cancelling all assemblies, evening meetings, and unnecessary events. We are aware that these are important activities, however, we want to take all precautions necessary to protect the health and well-being of our students, staff, and families.
The Oxnard School District continues to work closely with VCOE and Ventura County Public Health (VCPH) in response to COVID-19. VCPH has issued updated recommendations to help slow the spread of Coronavirus in our state. Our district will be providing posters containing information about health and safety protocols such as washing your hands often, covering your cough and sneezes, avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, etc. to all of our school sites as a reminder of preventative measures to help slow the spread of Coronavirus.
The Oxnard School District is implementing required actions in accordance with VCOE and VCPH recommendations. We are providing continuous updates about the Coronavirus and our schools on our website and on all of our official social media sites. We have also created a COVID-19 Info Line at (805) 385-1506 to provide the same information to our school community in both English and Spanish.
As always, the safety and wellness of our students and staff are a priority. We will be monitoring new developments and will continue to reevaluate our steps and actions. Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us to maintain a healthy and safe learning environment.
For general questions about Coronavirus and precautions currently recommended by Ventura County Public Health, residents may call the county’s coronavirus information line at (805) 981-5101 or (805) 981-5201.
Dr. Karling Aguilera-Fort,
